An upcoming collaboration with Migrant Zine Collective and me, “The Life of Inbetweeners” explores the difficulties of juggling two or more cultures in diaspora, and how this creates grey areas for our identities. We aim to share what a day in the life of inbetweeners may look like through storytelling, photography, illustration and collage.
We had a call for submissions from the local Aotearoa community and received over 20 contributors. My role was to collage the participants' childhood images that were sent over to us along with their stories. I also contributed to the cover image and concept. Complimentary to the theme of inbetweeners and reminiscing our childhood, I felt that a yearbook concept was very fitting as it showcases all the lovely whanau who participated.
